Do This 1 Thing To Be More Consistent With Your Workout Routine.

They weren't kidding when they said "consistency is key."

We all have goals that we aspire to get to in our everyday life, in our health, and in our fitness. The one thing that is an ABSOLUTE must to actually reach those goals is consistency, the steps you take everyday to come closer and closer to what YOU WANT.

Today I am going to be sharing with you the HOW of well, how to actually be consistent. Its alot harder than it seems, haha!

Welcome to Brain Food Life, your go-to source for all things fitness, nutrition, mindset, and the occasional healthy recipe. It's Ellen here, (duh) and today's topic is something near and dear to my heart. I pride myself in being consistent - especially in my workout routine. I'm the type of person that loves to get some movement in, and that's the time of the day that I actually look forward to.

I wasn't born like this though, haha and I know a lot of people find working out as a 'chore' to get done. So I am speaking to all of you out there who have trouble staying consistent 3 weeks in after working out, or may even just see it as a dreaded chore.

The only way to get results in any aspect, especially in your fitness journey is consistency. There is no magic formula or secret sauce that is going to speed this up for you and give you six pack abs.

"How the heck am I supposed to stay consistent in something I don't even like doing, or I can't find the time to do (working out)?!"

Yes I read your mind, I know you were thinking something along the lines of that.

Well first, you need to frame your mindset. Before I even get into the main part, this is vital!!

- Find something that you actually like to do, don't just go to the gym and lift weights just because some guy on Instagram told you to. There are so many options out there for you to try, whether it be Pilates, boxing or even going for a run! Find what you like and do it, don't just do a workout just because you think you are "supposed to."

Now that we got that out of the way, let's get into the exciting part...

The 1% Method

To put this in the most simplest terms ever, I want you to think about this question:

"Am I doing something everyday that is putting me 1% ahead from where I was yesterday?"

I know, it's kind of deep...

This is the essence of the 1% method, you don't need to workout for an hour everyday and burn yourself out. Some days you can workout for half an hour or twenty minutes, it's all about working with what you have and making working out a non-negotiable habit in your lifestyle.

Instead of telling yourself "I don't have time to get in a workout" use the time you have to get in a 10 minute stretch or do a quick HIIT session. Your body will thank you.

It's the little action that you take everyday that will lead to huge changes and results.

At the end of the day when you put it into perspective even just doing a quick stretch is better than doing nothing at all. You are a step ahead from where you were yesterday, the 1% action you take today and tomorrow adds up over time.

All the 1% days will eventually add up to 100% and you will get the desired result all by taking a little action everyday.

Step by step, that's all you need to do.

Find what workouts and types of movement that you love to do, and do a little bit everyday according to your schedule and lifestyle, it's all about taking that 1% of action!!

As you are taking the small steps everyday to get your results, why not get some healthy snacks on hand as well?? Being consistent with nutrition is a whole other topic to dive into but the 1% method applies just as well! I have put together a grocery list of my fav healthy snacks, that are all gluten free and vegan. Grab your copy here!

Thank you for reading until the end friend!! You already have taken that 1% action and learned something new that you didn't know yesterday, haha!

See you next week on the blog, same time same place :)

Daily Affirmation: My body is amazing. I have a hot rockin bod!
