Who Said Candy Was Bad? These Are The Better-For-You Halloween Candy Brands.

Hi all! Ellen here, welcome to BrainFoodLife. Your dedicated go-to source for all things health and fitness, mindset and the occasional healthy recipe. Today, I am going to be sharing with you some brain food. Or should I say some brain candy?! Haha. (See what I did there :) )



With Halloween right around the corner, you might want to indulge in a candy bar or ten but as you are reaching in the bucket of M&M's and Skittles you remember how later your body is not going to like you for that, and you realize that the sugars and processed chemicals isn't aligned with your goals and what you want to be putting into your body.



So you slowly put the piece of candy down... and feel as restricted as ever and you might even feel like you're missing out.




Not to fear! I have curated a list of the better for you (healthier) candies that you can enjoy on Halloween or even when you just have a craving for some gummy bears, haha.



All that Is mentioned on this list are all gluten free, dairy free, and majority are refined sugar free as well!

Before we get into the list, I just want to say you can enjoy any candy that you desire in moderation, anything that you eat even if its labeled as healthier, should still be enjoyed in moderation and not be over indulged in. :)

THE ULTIMATE BETTER FOR YOU CANDY LIST




  1. SMART SWEETS

Smart Sweets has almost every healthified version of almost every type of jelly consistency candy that you could think of. My personal favorite sweet fish has only 3g of sugar for the whole pack, its gluten free, plant based and non-gmo!!

They have sooo many more options ranging from peach rings, gummy bears, and even sweet chews (like a starburst!!)

If you're a fruity and sour candy type of person these are definitely for you!





2. UNREAL CHOCOLATE

Unreal Chocolate is basically so good its unreal haha!! My favorite of their chocolates are the almond butter chocolate cups! (Basically like a Reese's PB cup, but wayyyy better.) These are gluten free, vegan and non-gmo, and made with REAL ingredients!! YAY. They have many other chocolate treats like chocolate nougat bars, coconut bars, and gems which are pretty identical to M&M's. If you are chocolate obsessed like me, and want to switch it up from a regular chocolate bar definitely try these almond butter cups! :)









3. YUM EARTH


Yum Earth has basically all the fruity candies that you could think of. Ranging from lollipops, candy corn, gummy bears, fruit snacks and even licorice. All of their candy is allergen free, organic and vegan!! What a win-win. You can enjoy your candy and not feel the post candy guilt trip. Woooo!








4. HU KITCHEN


Now last, but certainly not least the star of the show HU Kitchen Chocolate. This is my all time favorite brand and I love everything that they stand for. All their products are made with REAL minimal ingredients and are all paleo, and vegan! I am a chocolate girl at heart so this just makes my heart light up :) They have the typical chocolate bars (shown in the image.) That comes in ALOT of different flavors, from cashew butter, to raspberry, mint and soooo much more!! Aside from the chocolate bars they also have HU HUNKS, which range from chocolate covered almonds, cashews, and sour berries. SO GOOD. ALSO they have hu GEMS which are basically chocolate chips, that I basically love to eat directly out of the package. As you can probably tell HU Kitchen has everything I love and more!





So there you have it! This is my ultimate, to the point, better for you healthy candy brand list. I covered all bases within these 4 brands ranging from sour to sweet to jelly and chocolatey :) You got them all here in one spot waiting for you!





The ultimate key in maintaining and sustaining a healthy lifestyle is to not restrict yourself and let yourself have that piece of chocolate from time to time. Life is no fun without chocolate, that's why we have HU Kitchen, duhh!
